Precise Perforation Control: FEELTEK Laser Processing Empowers Wooden Acoustic Panel Manufacturing

1111222222

Perforated wooden acoustic panels (including wooden grille acoustic panels) combine acoustic optimization and decorative aesthetics.
They are widely used in noise reduction spaces such as conference rooms, home theaters, and restaurants, and have become a preferred choice for modern decoration due to their natural texture. The perforation process is the core of its sound absorption effect, with stringent requirements on aperture and perforation rate – too low perforation rate affects sound absorption, while too high perforation rate weakens the strength of the board, which puts forward high requirements for processing technology.

The FEELTEK 3D dynamic focusing system fully demonstrates the advantages of laser 3D scanhead processing in the one-time perforation project of super-large-size wooden acoustic panels:

Details of this processing case:

Material: High-density fiberboard (MDF) with natural wood veneer on the surface.

Size: 1200*2000mm, which requires high-speed uniform circular hole perforation on the production line.

Core difficulty: The super-large-format panel requires one-time full-area uniform perforation on the surface of the acoustic panel, while strictly controlling the aperture of 0.5mm and the perforation rate of 5%-25%, to balance both acoustic performance and panel strength.

Laser 3D scanhead processing empowered by the FEELTEK 3D dynamic focusing system has three core advantages:

Aiming at the difficulty of uniform perforation on super-large-format panels, it adopts non-contact processing to eliminate problems such as edge chipping, burrs and deformation. The hole distance error is ≤±0.03mm, which not only ensures the uniformity of perforation on large-format panels, but also protects the integrity of wood veneer panels. Relying on the non-mechanical force property of laser, it achieves micron-level precision control.

It accurately meets the strict requirements for aperture and perforation rate. The FEELTEK 3D scanhead can stably control small apertures and maintain a perforation rate of 5%-25%, ensuring qualified sound absorption and sufficient board strength. Relying on FEELTEK’s core optical technology, it achieves precise beam focusing and stable parameter output.

It meets the efficient processing requirements of assembly lines, can complete super-large-range processing in one go, with significantly improved efficiency. At the same time, it supports flexible customization of various hole types, and is compatible with different thickness of plates and special hole types of wooden grilles. FEELTEK’s full closed-loop solution further enhances efficiency and adaptability.

This 3D dynamic focus working principle can be applied to many processing technologies for extra-large format applications.
